Located on the border between Goyang City and northern Seoul, Bukhan-san (mountain) boasts magnificent mountain peaks, splendid forests and valleys. The three peaks, Baekundae, Jungbong, and Mangyongdae, creates a triangle and is called Tangsan or Sambongsan by the locals. It is very popular as a rock climbing course, and when you climb to Baekundae, the main mountain peak, you can meet a spectacular scenery where the peaks seems to be in the midst of a sea of clouds.

During the Joseon Dynasty, Bukhansan-seong was responsible for the defense of the capital, you can also find here the remains of Jungheung Victory Memorial Monument and many Buddhist temples and cultural relics. Baekwondae (peak), which is the highest in Bukhansan, is graded as the most important landmark in Goyang-City.
